Grants available for new business starters in Hertfordshire

5 February

Grants are being made available for people starting up a new business, or entrepreneurs wanting to try out a new idea or explore more opportunities.

Stevenage Borough Council is working in partnership with the town's Business and Technology Centre (BTC) and offering a new Test Trading Grant, aiming to promote innovation and enterprise by providing direct help to the business community.

Grants of up to £500 are available for ventures including setting up a market stall, expanding into a new market, diversifying into a new product, and promoting a new product or service.

Cllr Simon Speller, the council's executive member for economy, enterprise and transport, said: "These grants can help some new businesses to get off the ground and can help some existing small businesses to try out some new ideas.”

WKH can help you apply for the grant as well as providing business planning, company formation and taxation advice.
